Wanting To Say Goodbye to Your Home's Pics on Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com? Here's How!
Safeguard Your Privacy: Remove Your Dallas-Fort Worth Home’s Photos from Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com
If you’re not in the market to sell your home, there's no reason to have interior photos and other details on real estate sites like Realtor, Zillow, and Redfin. This information can be highly valuable in the wrong hands and could pose risks to your safety. When selling, sharing photos, floor plans, and condition details help attract buyers. But once your home is sold, you may not want this info easily accessible. Removing such details from public listings is can be deemed as crucial for security for some people..
Multiple Listing Service (MLS)
Realtors upload your home’s details (photos, floor plans, and more) to a Multiple Listing Service (MLS). This service then shares the information with real estate websites like Zillow, Realtor.com, and Redfin through whats called an 'IDX feed'. Agents and brokers can also spread this info on social media and other platforms.
Unfortunately only licensed agents and brokers can access and make changes to an MLS. However many MLS's, including NTREIS which covers the Dallas-Fort Worth area do not allow Realtors to remove the listing photos after the sale of a property. However, you can still remove them from specific sites that are linked via IDX feed to the MLS, such as Zillow, Realtor.com, and Redfin.
